Catholic Schools Week
Western Deanery Mass
On Thursday, the Catholic Schools Week Western Deanery Mass, was celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church. It was a vibrant and faith-filled gathering that brought together students, staff, and families from across the region to honour the vital role of Catholic education. It was wonderful to welcome Bishop Peter Murphy to our school and parish for this occasion. The amazing Mr King and members of the 9/10 Elective Music class provided the music for the celebration. A special thank you to Mr King, who goes above and beyond to ensure his musicians are well prepared.
A visit from Bishop Peter Murphy
Bishop Murphy has just completed his parish visitation and we were lucky to have him visit our K-3 and Year 6 students on Friday. The Bishop spoke about his important role and answered many questions from our curious young people. A few favourites were:
- How long does it take you to get dressed with all those buttons? (33 buttons!)
- Which State of Origin team do you support? (NSW)
- Are you taller than Miss Arthur? (Just)
- What does a typical day look like for you? (Praying, studying, reading and visiting the sick)
Year 6 Confirmation
On Friday evening, some of our Year 6 students received the Sacrament of Confirmation. Congratulations to Elsie, Rory, Brodie, Chloe, Annie, Francie, Byron, Ted and Tilly.
St. Carlo Acutis Exhibition
Bishop Peter Murphy has had the vision of the millennial Saint Carlo Acutis being accessible to the young people of our diocese to inspire faith and to turn their gaze toward God. To that end, he purchased resources that make up a travelling exhibition of St Carlo Acutis, including an actual relic.
The Immaculata Sisters and a group of young people presented the exhibition to our students over 3 days, with each year group visiting the exhibition and being involved in prayer. It was a wonderful experience for our students.
