Japanese

Konnichiwa, Monty Community!
Year 3 and 4 students created Uma (horse) peg puppets and practised performing short puppet shows. Through this activity, they revisited previously learned Japanese phrases and refreshed their memories. In such a short time, students produced incredibly creative and entertaining performances.
Year 3–6 students have been participating in a “Lingo Bingo” challenge. The goal is to use nine useful Japanese expressions naturally throughout each lesson. When I hear several students using an expression correctly and in context, I announce to the class that they can cover that expression on their bingo sheet. At the end of each lesson, the covered expressions are counted, and points are added to the class tally.
It has been wonderful to see some students taking the initiative to use these expressions independently, which in turn encourages others to use more Japanese during class. Keep up the great work!
