Monday 25 May marked an exciting milestone for the Cobram Anglican Grammar Sports Academy, as our soccer students took part in the program's first-ever specialist coaching session!

Working with a squad of 14 students from Years 7 to 10, expert coach Adam Gatcum led an hour-long session beginning at 7:30am, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and the fundamentals of the game. Students worked through a range of coaching drills designed to sharpen their passing, footwork and ball control — the building blocks of strong, confident play.

We are delighted to offically welcome Adam into our Sports Academy set up and look forward to seeing the positive impact this partnership will have on our students. Thank you, Adam, for your expertise, your enthusiasm and your commitment to our young athletes!

Every student took on the course with tremendous application, giving their very best effort and flying the flag for our school with pride.

A special congratulations goes to the six students who have earned qualfication for the Hume Regional Cross Country Championships: Xavyer Hyde, Arveen Gill, Nate Hemmingway, Jentzie O'Shanassy, Carter Haddrell, and Jenson Morltock.

The standout moment of the day from an individual perspective came from Xavyer Hyde, who crossed the finish line in an impressive 3rd place in the 11-year-old Boys event.

To all CAGS competitors: you should be enormously proud of the way you performed and conducted yourselves. We can't wait to cheer on our Regional finalists at the next stage of competition!

Year 7/8 GMD Winter Sports Day

On 27 May, our Year 7/8 students headed to Shepparton to represent Cobram AGS across four sports — clay target, soccer, basketball and netball — competing against fellow Goulburn Murray schools.

Our combined Year 7/8 Boys Basketball side produced a strong performance, winning two of their three matches and demonstrating real teamwork throughout the day.

A special mention must go to our Clay Target team, who once again shot to an exceptionally high standard. Congratulations to Michael Roache (Year 7 Male High Gun), Lenny Keane (Year 8 Male High Gun) and Elsie Murphy (Year 8 Female High Gun) on their outstanding individual performances — a terrific achievement for each of them.

Across all sports, it was genuinely wonderful to see our students stepping up to a challenge, cheering each other on and competing with great sportsmanship. Well done to all students who participated, and thank you to the staff who supported them on the day.
