Principal's News

Pauline Cutajar

I would like to take this opportunity to wish our wonderful Year 12 Class of 2024 all the best for their final days at Shelford. I am grateful to them for all that they have given each other and our community in their final year at our School. They have provided energy, positivity, and support at a time when our School community has been dealing with the reality of significant change. I would also like to acknowledge and thank our Prefect Team who have led with kindness, strength, and care, their leadership has had such a positive impact. As our Year 12s enter their examination period, I wish them all courage, determination, and commitment. I trust that the learning and work that you have done throughout the year will hold you in very good stead.

There are many staff members behind the scenes supporting our Year 12s to achieve their best, both teachers and professional services staff. I thank each of them for their dedication to our students. A special thanks to our extraordinary Year 12 Team, Rebecca Wright – Senior Years’ Coordinator, Tristan Hill – VCE Coordinator and Wellbeing Mentor and Mel Ranieri – Wellbeing Mentor. This team has gone above and beyond to know and support our Year 12s throughout the year.

Our recent Remembering Shelford event was a wonderful celebration of our School’s magnificent history. It was a delight to see so many Shelfordians, current and past staff and families come together to remember and celebrate our School. It was an honour to host and speak with so many Shelfordians who enjoyed returning to their school and spoke with such joy and gratitude for their time at Shelford.

Thank you to the many staff who worked together over many months to make this event so wonderful. Special thanks to Jenny Collins – Communications and Content Coordinator for leading the project.

Our beautiful commemorative book was signed by many on the evening. If you have not yet had the opportunity to sign it, you are most welcome to do so, it will be kept at Shelford’s Reception until the end of November before being added to Shelford’s archives.

The content of this edition of our newsletter attests to the fact that our students continue to thrive and make the most of the many opportunities and experiences available to them at Shelford; we are reminded daily of just how lucky we are to be part of the Shelford community.

All the best for the remainder of the term.
