Year 7 Update

What a wonderful start we’ve had to the term! Our Year 7 students returned looking refreshed and eager to reconnect with their friends, bringing an infectious energy back to the school grounds.

We began this term by introducing our new word of the term, deciding on: ‘landing.’ This evolved from the students' enthusiasm for our Term Two word, ‘leaping,’ which symbolised their excitement for new opportunities. Now, they feel they have progressed beyond the initial leap and are ‘landing’ in the experiences they most enjoy and want to continue pursuing. The concept of landing also evokes a sense of security, as students feel confident that they are landing safely and where they need to be. It’s also a reminder for them to stay grounded - focusing on living in the moment and appreciating the time they share together as a cohort. Landing also represents a pause for reflection, where students take stock of the lessons they’ve learned from new opportunities and experiences. It’s a moment to absorb knowledge and grow from it. Finally, landing also shows our stage in a longer journey, where the Year 7 students are making progress toward their future goals, but also taking the time to rest and appreciate how far they've come.

A special thank you goes to our Year 7 Reunion Tour Guides: Anastasia V, Lilli T, Stella M, and Caroline Z, who did a fantastic job leading  Shelfordians on a walk down memory lane. Their enthusiasm and school spirit truly shone through.

We are looking forward to all the exciting activities and opportunities that await us this term, and we can't wait to see the incredible things we’ll accomplish together as a group.
