Grounds Committee

June 21 - Working Bee Report

The June Working Bee was held on Sunday June 21. We had a great turnout of over 30 volunteers, families, friends of the school, students and teachers. This was a great turn out for winter, and we were rewarded with wonderful weather. A big thank you to everyone who attended.

Now that the STEAM building is complete we were able to plant out areas around the building, including a new bush foods garden lead by the student leadership group.

We also tidied up the sensory garden beds at the front of the original school building, getting it ready for the 100-year birthday celebrations later in the year.

We also rejuvenated garden beds at the Ely Street entrance

The morning finished with morning tea and a run down from our Principal, Vincent Sicari, on the activities around the school, including upcoming celebration for the school’s 100th year.

As always, we always welcome new grounds committee members to help with planning the school outdoor areas and gardens. Please contact the school or a member of the committee if you are interested. Meetings are held on a Thursday evening prior to each Working Bee.

2026 EHS Working Bee Dates

Do you wish to join the 2026 EHS Grounds Committee? 

The Grounds Committee meets prior to each Working Bee to plan the activities and then help supervise jobs on the day.  

The committee is always keen to welcome new families to join the grounds committee.  

Being part of the committee and regularly attending Working Bees is a great way to contribute to the school community, meet other families, and the teaching staff.
