Year 9 Outdoor Education Brisbane Ranges Bushwalk
Last week the Year 9 Outdoor Education class undertook a 2 day bushwalk in the Brisbane Ranges National Park. Despite a rather dismal weather forecast, these intrepid adventurers set out with heavy packs to experience the ‘3 Creeks Circuit’, visiting a number of historic gold mining sites in this interesting area.
All students demonstrated well developed skills in bushcraft and camp cooking, using their ‘Trangias’ (bushwalking stoves) to fill their empty tummies.

District Cross Country
On Wednesday 3 June, Eltham High School students put in an outstanding performance at the District Cross Country, with 29 students qualifying for the Regional Cross Country Championships. To earn a place at the next level, students needed to finish in the top 30 of their age group, making this a fantastic achievement for all those who progressed.

Regional Cross Country Championships
Twenty-five Eltham High School students proudly represented the school at the Regional Cross Country Championships held on Wednesday 17 June at Bundoora Park.
Following overnight rain, competitors were met with challenging conditions, with sections of the 3km and 5km courses becoming slippery and demanding underfoot. Despite the tough conditions, our students demonstrated outstanding determination, resilience and sportsmanship throughout the day.
A highlight of the event was the performance of four Eltham High School runners who finished inside the top 10 in their respective age groups, earning qualification for the School Sport Victoria State Cross Country Finals to be held on 16 July at Yarra Glen Racecourse.
Our state qualifiers were:
Rhodri Whelan (Year 12, Skipper House) – 2nd Place
Xavier Webley (Year 10, Skipper House) – 3rd Place
Zoe Davies (Year 10, Pakana House) – 4th Place
Felix Morgan (Year 11, Toner House) – 5th Place
These results are a testament to the commitment and hard work shown by all students throughout their training and competition season.
Congratulations to all 25 students who represented Eltham High School at the regional championships. We wish Rhodri, Xavier, Zoe and Felix the very best as they prepare to compete against Victoria's best runners at the State Finals next month.
