France Tour Reunion Lunch
On Friday 19 June, the school hosted a France Tour Reunion Lunch, bringing together students who participated in the recent 2026 tour. The event provided a wonderful opportunity to reconnect, reflect on unforgettable experiences, revisit favourite photos, and discuss future travel plans to France. Guests enjoyed a taste of France with delicious baguettes and éclairs while sharing memories from an extraordinary journey.
A grand merci to Monsieur Sicari for supporting the reunion lunch and helping to make the event possible. The gathering reflects Eltham High School's ongoing commitment to promoting language learning and providing opportunities for international study and cultural exchange.

I really enjoyed the French Lunch last Friday, I loved reconnecting with the people who went, and eating French food again. Thank you to all the teachers and staff who organised this meeting. It was very fun!
Jasmine Ernest-Tamblyn, Year 9
On Friday at lunch time, those of us who went on the French Trip had a reunion lunch to talk with each other again after a term of being back at school. We got to enjoy a delicious lunch of French cuisine, with baguette sandwiches and chocolate eclairs. We had a group photo taken of us all wearing our berets that Mr Sicari purchased for us. The reunion was a lovely meeting and I enjoyed my time talking with people from the trip that I hadn't had the chance to speak with in some time.

Upcoming Francophile Events in Melbourne
Bastille Day Festival
Melbourne’s Francophile community will soon come together to celebrate French language, culture, and cuisine through a series of engaging public events, culminating in the annual Bastille Day festivities.
In honour of Bastille Day (14 July), the city will host the Bastille Day Festival Melbourne during the last weekend of the school holidays (11-12 July). The festival offers a vibrant program of French-inspired food stalls, live music, cultural performances, and family-friendly activities, providing a wonderful opportunity for students and families to experience French culture beyond the classroom.

Melbourne French Theatre
Another Francophone highlight this August is a new production by Melbourne French Theatre of the highly acclaimed play Il était un petit navire (SOS Save Our Savings). Founded in 1977, Melbourne French Theatre (MFT) is Australia’s longest running French-language theatre company, and it has long played a key role in promoting French language and culture in schools as well as the wider Melbourne community.
Our students of Years 9 and 10 French will be attending a performance of Il était un petit navire on Friday 14 August.
The production offers audiences the chance to experience live theatre entirely in French with English “surtitles”.
Tickets for the current show are on sale to the public via the MFT website:
