BREWING CONNECTIONS at our Chai and Chat Sessions
The recent Chai and Chat session held at our Banksia campus on 6th August, brought together school parents for a valuable afternoon of learning and community building. The event, organised by Mrs. Malhotra and Mr. Sloan featured Ankita Mahajan, an experienced Neuro Linguistic Programmer and Parenting Coach, as the guest speaker. Ankita shared practical tips on ‘Raising Rethinking Teenagers’, drawing from her expertise in neuro-linguistic programming (NLP)—a set of communication and behaviour-changing techniques beneficial for families navigating the challenges of adolescence.
Parents actively participated in the workshop, engaging with Ankita's ideas and asking insightful questions on effective parenting strategies and communication with their teens. The session fostered a vibrant atmosphere of collaboration, where parents could interact and network with one another, broadening their support networks and exchanging experiences.
Refreshing chai, coffee, and light snacks added to the friendly ambiance, making the event both enjoyable and meaningful for all attendees. The success of the session was evident from the high level of parent engagement and positive feedback.
Looking ahead, the next Chai and Chat Session is scheduled for October 15th, from 3:15 to 4:15 pm at the Acacia Campus. Parents are encouraged to lock in this date. The upcoming session will welcome a Senior Solicitor from the Victorian Department of Families, Fairness and Housing. This promises to be another informative and supportive workshop for our school community.
We look forward to seeing you all there!
