Campus Principal Report

We began Term 3 in style with the Year 12 Formal on Friday 25 July. The atmosphere was incredible and our students were outstanding. The Formal Committee did an exceptional job in creating a wonderful occasion and we would like to thank Mel Naganivatu, Anthony Fiorello, Sean De Amicis and Elaine Chieu for their guidance and support of the committee. With over 80 staff in attendance, it was a true celebration of what an exceptional Year 12 group we have. From the very first song the dance floor was full, with both students and teachers joining in the fun.

This term also saw the launch of the Construct Program at both campuses. Led by Mr Shane Stephens, this hands-on initiative involves a small group of students from Years 7 to 10 who will be working on school and community-based projects. The program is designed to build confidence, teamwork and a stronger connection to school. Keep an eye out for a transformation of the gardens outside the General Office over the coming months.

Our Year 10 students across the College had a busy and purposeful start to the term. In Week 1 they attended the Careers Expo at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre, where they explored career options, engaged with industry professionals and gained valuable insights into pathways for the future. This experience linked perfectly into their Work Experience in Weeks 3 and 4, where students enjoyed placements that helped guide their aspirations. Students also engaged in 1:1 subject selection appointments with their parents across two days, giving each student the chance to plan out their pathway and subjects for 2026.

On Saturday 2 August, eager Grade 6 students visited the College to sit the EduTest for our Year 7 KEEP (Keysborough Extension and Enrichment Program). The top performers in English and Maths will be invited to join our KEEP classes in 2026. Well done to all the Grade 6 students who took part.

House Spirit is shining this term across both campuses! At Acacia, our House Netball competition is in full swing every Thursday at lunchtime and Keysie’s Got Talent has just kicked off. With a couple of performers absent on Wednesday 20th August, Mr Mason took to the stage to entertain the packed out theatre signing Piano Man, by Billy Joel. Go Mr Mason! At Banksia, their weekly House Basketball competition is up and running as well as Keysie’s Got Talent. We are excited to see the many talents of our students on display in the coming weeks across the College.

We look forward to welcoming our parents and guardians to our upcoming Parent Teacher Interviews in Week 9 (Tuesday 16th September) to connect with our staff and have face to face conversations about their child’s progress.
