Year 7 Cam Toys

2025 has seen our Year 7 cohort create fully functioning Cam Toys in Design Technology. Over a semester, students moved from conceptual research through to the construction and finishing of timber mechanisms, each based on their chosen theme.

Students were introduced to the principles of cam and follower systems and had to select an inspiring theme—all targeted towards their client. Under the guidance of our Design Technology teachers, they completed the Design process encompassing research, prototyping, precision woodworking and aesthetic refinement.
