Year 11 VCE VM Numeracy - Grand Prix Excursion

Vocational Major (VM) aims to connect the content with real world applications and hands on experiences to support the learning within the classroom.

In numeracy, the Year 11 VM students have been learning about mapping skills using grid references, directional language and compass bearings. They have also used online programs and data input/output systems to find out information. Their learning culminated in an excursion to the F1 Grand Prix at Albert Park on Thursday the 13th of March. Students were able to V8 Supercars on the track and the Porsche Carrera Cup Qualifying.

There were many exhibitors showcasing past, present and future car technologies such as RMIT and Monash University. Students were also able to explore the precinct and look at older cars, racing simulators and the merchandise stands. The students and staff had a great day exploring a new environment, viewing the car races and seeing numeracy in action.
