YDivision Swimming

On the 7th of March, our RSC Division swimming team made their way to Aquanation to compete in the Maroondah Division Swimming competition. The day ran well and with a few troubles with filling spots on the team due to late injuries or sickness, Ms B did a fantastic job with getting other swimmers to fill in for another student who couldn’t compete.

It was nice to see majority of events filled with students from Ringwood Secondary and was even better to witness the greatness going on in the pool. From a teachers perspective it felt like after every event we were jumping out of the pool with the first place ribbon which is a credit to every student who gave it their all. Out of the 4 schools that participated it was nice to see such a large representation of students competing.

I would like to congratulate the students that competed on the day, the effort and behaviour was top notch and we couldn’t have asked for anything more!

At the end of the day it was announced that RSC were once again Division CHAMPIONS! After the superb display of swimming on the day their was no doubt at all that we would be somewhere up the top again so it was awesome to hear that we were crowned champs. I cant reiterate enough how thankful we are as staff for the way students swam up in age groups, helped out relay teams, helped out a friend by swimming in their event, it made the day go alot smoother.

Finally, congratulations to our individual age group champions:

13 Yr Female – Lucy Doyle

13 Yr Male – Byron Geng

14 Yr Female – Teah Smith

14 yr Male – Joshua Philpott

15 yr Male – Bryan Wong

16 yr Female – Betty Geng

17 yr Female – Myra Whitby

17 yr Male – Luke Barr

20 yr Female – Taylor Viney

20 yr Male – Cade Cavanagh

These students did a fantastic job in the water and should be so proud of their efforts. Also an overall congratulations to all students who competed for our Division Swimming Team, you all were awesome!

Huge thankyou to all the teachers (Ms Boutsikakis, Mr Ingleton, Mr Parker, Ms Rafferty and Ms Clarke) who came along to help on the day, without you the day would not be possible. Also, a massive thankyou to our student helpers who had the job of timing swimmers.

All the best to the students that will be competing in the Eastern Metropolitan Regional Swimming on Tuesday 29th of March!
