Junior School

It has been a very busy couple of weeks in Junior School with so many opportunities available for our students to connect and make memories.

Leadership Training Day -

The Year 7 and 8 Leaders were involved in a very successful Leadership training day, where they learnt what qualities they possess to make good leaders and show off their skills for the first time this year.

It was very pleasing to see them excel and collaborate with other year level leaders.

MENTAL HEALTH WELLBEING DAY –

The smiles on their faces showed how successful the day was. Our students got into the spirit of the day “Get Your Groove On” and dressed to impress in their favourite bands/music genres.

Well done to all and we hope you enjoyed all of the rides and stalls available.

Year 8 GUMBUYA WORLD –

The weather turned it on for our Yr 8’s as they embarked on a fun filled day.

Plenty of smiles and laughter was witnessed throughout the day whilst the students explored the rides, water park and wildlife park during the day. Silence on the bus home was a clear sign that all had had a great day.

Congratulations to all students who attended on your excellent manners, respect and behaviour for the day.

YR 7 PARENT INFO NIGHT –

Congratulations to Xavier, Tanvi, Joshua and Scarlett, some of our Yr 7 and 8 leaders who spoke so eloquently at the Year 7 new parent information evening last week. If you missed it, you will find the link on compass to watch when you have the time. We were so very proud of your efforts.

Year 8 Geography excursion –

The Year 8 Geography classes have been venturing around Melbourne to observe the middle and lower courses of the Yarra River.

They observed Fisherman's Bend, Dights Falls, Wombat Bend and Pound Bend. The data collected will be used to write a Fieldwork Report summarising their findings using graphs and field sketches.

The best thing for the Year 8 students about being out on an excursion is to learn in the field and not from behind a screen, an opportunity that has been sorely missed these last few years. Thank you to Ms Rafferty and all the Year 8 Geography teachers who accompanied the students.

Good luck with your Fieldwork Reports, Year 8!
