Ringwood Training

Young ladies joining VET Automotive classes.

Continuing the theme of girls in trades.

Our Automotive program has 1 apprentice (normally up to 5 apprentices) and 8 VETis females started the year.

Madeline is a 3rd year apprentice who before the starting her apprenticeship worked in several casual jobs before settling on Automotive servicing as her career.

Madeline, who’s father is a mechanic. When Madeline researched a career, she found that a mechanic  suited her best and she work with her hands. And working in a largely male dominated trade is challenging at times, but very rewarding

As encouragement for other young ladies interested Madeline said “It is not as scary as you think”

Tanaya is a 1st Year VETis student enjoys working with her hands.

She would like to work in Building and Construction as an Architect and believes that practical skills she is learning will assist with her career.

Tanaya said “that she could fix her own car”

Eliza is also a 1st Year VETis student who likes hands on practical tasks. She said “Automotive was an interest and want to see if would be a future career”

Emmerson another 1st Year VETis student said “this was something new for her and was enjoying learn about cars” Having an understanding of car will mean I will be able to fix my own car and not rely on a mechanic.

Lilie is a 1st year VETis student who’s Dad and Uncle are in the automotive field and found it interesting talking to them about their work. Lilie said “she would like to get into vehicle servicing as a career after completing school”

Sophie is a 1st Year VETis student who has grown up with all family working in automotive industry and would llike to get into General Automotive Servicing industry as a career.
