Living at Lockington

Debbie warming up

Term 4 has started with a variety of exciting activities for our 22 students at Lockington and here are three of the highlight so far this term.

Koorie Women’s’ Football Carnival

Eight of our girls as well as many alumni girls participated in the Koorie Women’s Football Carnival at Sir Doug Nicholls oval in Thornbury. The girls played for the Cummeragunja Swans team and played three matches over the Saturday and Sunday before qualifying for the Grand Final. The Grand Final was a tough contest and with 18 seconds to go the Swans were behind by two points. Tatiana kicked a goal and the siren sounded with Cummeragunja winning by four points over a team that included several alumni students!

Masterchef Challenge

For most of Term 3 and the beginning of Term 4, some Year 10 St Kevin’s boys have been visiting on a Wednesday afternoon. There has been many games of basketball and some planning for a Masterchef Challenge. The final challenge was held on Wednesday the 30thof October with all four teams making some delicious pizzas. The winning team was Debbie, Pauline, Serina, Antonio, Paul and Isaiah led by Oli and Tom from St Kevin’s.

Trick or Treating

On Thursday 31st October the MITS students dressed up and participated in some Trick or Treating for Halloween around the streets of Richmond. The groups set off in the 30 degree heat and returned with buckets of lollies, chocolate and even some money! Some treats were eaten before being bundled together to enjoy over the long weekend.
