Creative Arts Night

Creative Arts and Languages Showcase

The Creative Arts and Languages Showcase was recently held in the Our Lady of the Rosary Cultural Centre. Artworks were viewed in the Centre foyer, followed by Drama, French and Music performances. The showcase highlighted the hard work and achievements of our Creative Arts and Languages students and was very well attended by family members, friends and staff.

There were a number of musical performances on the night, some featuring soloist, and other ensembles. The night began with the Concert Band performing Take On Me and How To Train Your Dragon, and concluded with the Jazz Band performing the Peter Gunn Theme and Can't Stop The Feeling. The Band Awards for 2019 were presented as a part of the concert. Congratulations to the following students who received an award on the night:

The  Creative Arts and Languages faculty would like to congratulate all the students who participated (on stage and off) in the evening - we have seen your hard work come to fruition and are proud of you. A sincere thank you to the family, friends and McCarthy Staff members who attended. A creative culture is only developed with your support. We hope you enjoyed the evening.

We also congratulate one of our HSC students, Ryan Thompson, who has been selected to perform at Bravissimo in Port Macquarie next year. Bravissimo is a concert which recognises the best HSC performers on the North Coast and inland. Ryan plays the trombone and has remained focused and worked very hard to prepare and refine his performance skills, and is to be congratulated on this achievement.

Year 7 2020 Orientation Day - Music and Drama Introduction

During the Year 7 2020 Orientation Day, future McCarthy students were introduced to the Music program held at McCarthy (information is also in the school's parent packs). Students watched the College Concert and Jazz bands play, sang collectively under the guidance of Mr McNeil and viewed two self-devised performances from Year 9 and 10 Drama students.

Thank you for being such an interactive audience Year 7 2020. We look forward to you being part of our school in the new year.
