Year 10

With the completion of exams in week 5 students will have received their marked examinations back. This is a good opportunity for reflection and growth. I encourage caregivers  to sit down with their learners and dissect their exam papers. This is not a time for judgement, but a time to reflect on efforts made towards learning and achievements attained. This may lead into a reassessment of balance for your learner - between work and school, sport and socialising. While for others, it has cemented a good foundation for the work ethic required to succeed in the senior years at the college. The exam period does not symbolise the end of Year 10’s academic studies. It is important that your learner continues to engage within the classroom as teachers are continuing to meet learning outcomes as prescribed by NESA.

Year 10 has also undergone a voting process to select their Student Leadership Council (SLC) members for 2020. After many students took the chance to be selected, (it was very close!) I am pleased to announce our girl representatives: Daisy George and Sarah Klasen and our male representatives: Nathaniel Thrift and Zac Refalo. It is intended that the SLC members are the voice for the student body at the College, in which I am confident these elected members will flourish in this role and uphold the College motto “Receive, Worship and Serve”.

Remember, “Touch the gate, and switch on to learning”

Supporting a positive learning environment.
