Drought Campaign

Mater Dei and Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga Drought Campaign

The Catholic Church in Australia is dedicating the month of November 2019 as a time to pray for those affected by crippling drought conditions and to pray for the gift of rain. The difficulties and hardships for farmers and their livestock caused by this drought will have ongoing ramifications for the affected communities.

Parishes, schools, families and other Catholic communities across the country are being encouraged to participate in the National Prayer Campaign for Drought, which also invites people to provide assistance to those most in need. The month of prayer is an additional response to the local work being done in affected communities.

Mater Dei students will have the opportunity to support drought affected families by contributing a gold coin to wear casual clothes on Thursday 5 December. Through your kind donations, all monies raised will go to assisting in the recovery of communities affected by drought.

Many thanks in advance to all for your support of our Diocesan Drought Campaign. Thank you also for your prayers and generous donations to College fundraisers throughout the year.
