The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund helps ensure that no student will miss out on the opportunity to join their classmates for important, educational and fun activities. It is part of making Victoria the Education State and the Government’s commitment to breaking the link between a student’s background and their outcomes.\u003c/p>\u003cp> \u003c/p>\u003cp style=\"text-align:justify;\">CSEF is provided by the Victorian Government to assist eligible families to cover the costs of school trips, camps and sporting activities.\u003c/p>\u003cp style=\"text-align:justify;\"> \u003c/p>\u003cp>If you hold a valid means-tested concession card or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible for CSEF. fact, part fish! Turns out - they are! Congratulations to Thea and Ele for representing Beaufort Primary School at this level. Storytelling is how the traditional owners and Elders of our lands pass down important values, lessons and knowledge onto future generations. It is an incredibly important part of our history and we are excited to be able to keep these stories alive.\u003c/p>\u003cdiv class=\"embed\" data-id=\"N9O8aLM\"> \u003c/div>\u003ch2 style=\"text-align:center;\">\u003cstrong>\u003cu>Earth Ed\u003c/u>\u003c/strong>\u003c/h2>\u003cp>Last week, the 3/4 cohort journeyed down to Ballarat for an excursion to Earth Ed to learn about what is underneath our feet. The students worked like scientists learning how to classify and describe the different characteristics of rocks.\u003c/p>\u003cp> \u003c/p>\u003cp>Students brought along a bag of dirt from their homes on the day and were able to test their soil. They were able to test the P.H. level of their soil. They contain much more complex vocabulary and sentence structure than spoken language. They also engage the student’s imaginations. \u003c/p>\u003cp> \u003c/p>\u003cp>We have a lovely selection of picture books in our school library which I use as a ‘jumping off point’ for learning.\u003c/p>\u003cp> \u003c/p>\u003cp>Last week our story of the week was ‘Room on the Broom’. The students listened to the story, we explored some of the vocabulary in the story and discussed how to retell the beginning, middle and the end.\u003c/p>\u003cdiv class=\"embed\" data-id=\"MxB8dmN\"> \u003c/div>\u003cp>The students were then given an opportunity to retell the story by becoming the characters and acting out the story.\u003c/p>\u003cp> \u003c/p>\u003cp>Storytelling/story acting supports the student's language and literacy skills, social and emotional development, and creativity. Allowing the student’s to act out these stories has assisted them to build their comprehension and make the story their own. They will all get an opportunity to be a character in one of our story books this term. Nate was the frog who came out of the bog. He jumped around and was very excited when the witch made a new and improved broom, adding a shower for the frog.
