Loving learning every day!
Last week, two students from 3/4A attended the District Swimming trials to see whether or not they were, in fact, part fish! Turns out - they are! Congratulations to Thea and Ele for representing Beaufort Primary School at this level. We can't wait to see where this takes you!
During the alternate Monday afternoons when we don't have assembly, our 3/4 students have been exploring the culture, history and significance of Aboriginal Dreaming stories. Storytelling is how the traditional owners and Elders of our lands pass down important values, lessons and knowledge onto future generations. It is an incredibly important part of our history and we are excited to be able to keep these stories alive.
Last week, the 3/4 cohort journeyed down to Ballarat for an excursion to Earth Ed to learn about what is underneath our feet. The students worked like scientists learning how to classify and describe the different characteristics of rocks.
Students brought along a bag of dirt from their homes on the day and were able to test their soil. They were able to test the P.H. level of their soil. Students learnt how to use a microscope properly to see their dirt and discovered fine crystals and sand.
The students were very grateful to go home with sunflower seeds planted in their dirt to grow and nurture at home.
