All Year 7 and Year 8 students have had a very busy term consolidating Term 3 work and assessments. All students have also completed 2023 subject selections and did very well completing them on Edval online. Thanks to all parents and families for your assistance with these.
Impact Classes
Impact classes have continued to be very enjoyable in Term 3 with many activities and topics worked on.
Respectful Relationships has continued to be the main concept in all Impact classes. Both year levels had a visit from Libby West, Darebin Police Youth Resource Officer and heard about the importance of being respectful online and strategies to ensure online safety. All students have also completed their ‘My Career Portfolio’s, revisited Zones of Regulation and Year 8’s recently heard about the importance of Time Management strategies from Elevate Educate.
Bruce Kingsbury Memorial Service – Yr7’s
Reservoir High School, Kingsbury Primary School and the 2/14th Infantry Battalion Association recently conducted our annual Bruce Kingsbury memorial service on Friday 25th August. Many Grade five and six students from Kingsbury Primary School and all of our Year 7 students paid honour to the gallant heroics of Bruce Kingsbury and the 2/14th Battalion during World War 2. We were visited by many honoured guests for this service.
The audience heard poems and stories read out by current Year 7 students and a wonderful insight by Kingsbury Primary school captains who shared their Anzac Day experiences with the 2/14 Battalion in the Anzac Day march earlier this year.
Thank you to Ms Barker and Mr Bayley for their great assistance with organising the service, and to our Yr 7 Humanities team who assisted their Year 7 classes to prepare the wonderful work and presentations on Bruce Kingsbury and the 2/14th Battalion.
Interschool Sports Teams
There have been many Junior students participate in Interschool Sport teams this term in Basketball, Athletics and Table tennis. Congratulations to all students for participating in these teams. Thank you also to all staff who have been coaching and supporting these teams through training and coaching on game day.
The NMR Athletics finals were held recently at Meadowglen Athletics Track and our school did extremely well finishing in the top 10 of all schools in the Northern Metro Region. Many of our students will now represent the school at the Victorian Athletics Championship in Term 4.
