School for Student Leadership - Gnurad-Gundidj Campus

This term we have had our amazing Year 9 Captains Aiden, Alexia and Abdo attending the School for Student Leadership, completing the 8-week program, where they lived onsite away from home. School for Student Leadership is a Victorian Department of Education and Training (DET) initiative offering a unique residential education experience for Year 9 students. The curriculum focuses on personal development and team learning projects, sourced from students' home regions. There are three campuses in iconic locations across Victoria, with our students attending the campus adjacent to Mount Noorat, near Camperdown in Victoria’s Western District. It is called 'Gnurad-Gundidj'. After consultation with the local Aboriginal community, this name represents both the indigenous name of the local area and an interpretation of the statement "belonging to this place".

Ms Watmough and Ms Rogneda were able the visit the students on campus to hear about their Community Learning Project presentation. The students have some amazing ideas to benefit the Reservoir community and we are excited to support them in making it happen when they return to school.
