Touch Gala Day

Four Year 7-8 touch teams (2 boys, 2 girls) participated in a gala day held at Orange on Wednesday.  Organised by NSW Touch, Cowra High teams played 4 or 5 20-minute matches against other sides from Central West schools in a great day of non-stop action.  One of the boys teams progressed through to the semi-final against Orange High, losing 5-3 in a tight contest.  Students were excellent ambassadors for the school, playing games in the right spirit.

Our thanks to the four referees, Luke Kinsey, Sonny Eastwood, Josh Pokoney and Ky Johnson who volunteered their time for the benefit of our teams.  Also thanks to assistant coach, Montana Walker, who put her Sports Coaching skills to good use throughout the day and to Melissa Knights for organising the excursion.

State Athletics

Congratulations to the following students who recently represented Western Area at the State Athletics carnival in Sydney.  Unfortunately we didn't figure in the medals however, our results were extremely good.

Tailor Hampton - 9th in the 16 boys discus

Bailey Beale - 13th in the 13 boys discus

Charlotte Gray - 15th in the 13 girls shot put

Mackenzie Crook, Chloe Horne, Keira Buckley and Jessica Hayes - 13th in the girls 4x100m relay

Jacob Haeata - 15th in the boys 800m

Joshua Pokoney - 12th in the 16 boys triple jump
