Individual Achievements

Adam Lees Yr 8- competed at the Cycling Victoria State Championships recently. Much to everyone’s delight, Adam rode the race of his short career to win the State u/15yrs title. This is a fabulous achievement. Nevertheless, bigger news has just been received that he has been invited into the National u/17 Development squad – training with National coaches and other very talented cyclists – all at national level. Well done.

Grace Valele Y11 has been selected in the Samoan u/21 National netball squad. The team will be competing at the Oceania Youth World Cup in Fiji. Her netball pathway development continues.

The Yr 7 and 8 boy's teams were successful. Yr 7 and 8 girl's teams tried hard but did not match up against the opposition. Yr 7 boy's def Staughton, Gisborne and Sunbury Downs in a round robin competition winning all matches in straight sets. Yr 8 boy's def Gisborne and Sunbury Downs in their pool, then def Staughton in the final, again all wins in straight sets.

Junior Boys Rugby 13’s State final v Narre Warren

Unfortunately, when the junior boys played off last term for the State NRL 13’s, they played without 4 of their regular players due to them being unavailable on the day.

We scored early and led 6-4 at half time through tremendous defensive efforts against a much bigger opposition. Captain I.J. scored an early 2nd half try with one of the best “bluffs” you could see – one of the best tries I have ever seen in school rugby. They broke our lines twice after this to put pressure on. With 2 minutes to go and a rotation of injured players affecting us, Sebastian Chadwick found an opening to score a late try to tie the game- and good for us he touched down under the sticks. Phillip Telea had to convert with 30secs to go for us to win – and convert her did. We win 18-16. State Champions.

Senior student assistants Anisi, Lathaniel and Jared did a terrific job in coaching, discipline control, and general organisation. I could not ask for any more from student helpers.
