Your Favourite Book

Do you have a favourite book? My favourite book from childhood is ‘The Little One’ by Dare Wright. It was published in London in 1961 and was a birthday gift from my auntie.

Dare Wright, a Canadian author, created original children’s books using black and white photography. The story is about Persis, a lonely doll, and her adventures with Turtle, Cross Bear and Nice Bear. The nineteen original editions of stories written by Dare Wright have now become collector items. I have read the book with my sisters, children and grandchildren who have all enjoyed the story, especially its message about caring for others.

I invite all students to send me a photo of yourself with your favourite book and perhaps a brief outline of the book and why it is your favourite. We can add the photos to our gallery and see whether our favourite book is also the favourite book of someone else. Email them to ksansalone@santglen.catholic.edu.au

Kind regards,
