From the Deputy

Student Distance Learning Site

Dear Families,

We are almost half-way through the term now and change and challenge continues to present itself in many and varied ways day to day, week to week.  I feel very fortunate to work with colleagues who, like myself, hold their concerns at bay and step up and into these challenges daily, so that our children have the very best education.

I also want to acknowledge all of our families who have been doing the same at home.  Yes, it isn't easy but you're all doing an exceptional job (despite what the children may say when they don't want to do something).  We are modelling for our children key skills they will need throughout their life, highlighting that change really is the only constant and the ability to adapt (or be agile as we say in education) is vital.

We continue to welcome your feedback and wanted to make you aware of two projects we have been working on  to support Distance Learning and community connection.

We have developed a Distance Learning site for our students to use which is aimed at supporting them when they need to navigate between different sites or applications. It is still under construction so if you have suggestions for development of the site please email me directly - poverbury@santglen.catholic.edu.au.

All students have access to this site when they have logged into their school account in Chrome on the top left of their screen - St Anthony's Sites.  See image below.

On the front page of the Student Distance Learning site students have been given a link to our school Living Library site.  Our neglected treasure trove of texts have been brought to life by our wonderful Learning Support Officers who have worked tirelessly to record themselves reading a variety of their favourite picture story, chapter and non-fiction texts.  Please be patient with us as we add to the collection and we hope you enjoy what is currently available.

with best wishes,
