The last week of another ‘extraordinary’ term!
As we finish Term 3 and start the holiday break, we would like to remind all our students to take time to reflect on the term, rest and recuperate. As usual it has been a busy term with many events, to name a few:
- Year 7 and 8 debating (with 2 out of 3 wins)
- VCAL fundraising (well done to Kady Best and her students)
- All the sporting team including the AFL footy match between Thornbury High
- School production “We Will Rock You” which was amazing
- Semester Awards Assemblies
Last Thursday 8th September was RUOK? day. You will have seen lots of material with the RUOK logo on our social sites, and on other social and electronic media and around the school. However, RUOK? should not be something we ask our friends and family on just one day of the year, especially in the difficult times we are facing at the moment. Sometimes we don’t ask, because we are afraid of the answer. The RUOK campaign provides some useful information about how to have a conversation with someone about how they are going, and I thought it appropriate to share with you here. Check in with the people you love regularly.
Over the past fortnight, Year 7 to 9 students have been reviewing their goals in Maths, English and Connect classes and their reflections were published with Interim Reports. Students have also had a conference with their teachers about their progress and setting new goals.Students and Parents can access the Goal Setting forms on Compass.

Students and Parents are also encouraged to regularly check in on Learning Tasks on Compass to monitor work completion, meeting deadlines and reviewing teacher feedback.
