Year 12 VCAL

Beyond Blue

Fundraiser

During Term 3, the Year 12 VCAL students have been raising money for mental health charity, Beyond Blue. Year 12 Level Leader, Gus McLean, kindly volunteered to shave his iconic beard if we could meet a $1000 fundraising target. The more money that was raised, the shorter Mr. McLean’s beloved beard would get.

The VCAL students hosted a variety of events throughout the term including Dress Like Mr. McLean Day, Minute to Win It activities, a Cycling Competition, and Footy Colours Day with a Sausage Sizzle. As each event progressed, the college community donated money in the hopes of achieving our $1000 goal.

To the credit of the VCAL students and the wider Greensborough College community, we are happy to announce that we raised a grand total of $2641.81. An amazing effort by all!

Lunchtime on Friday 9th September was the main event. Students and staff gathered in APAC2 as the anticipation continued to build. The amazing fundraising effort not only saw Mr. McLean lose all of his iconic beard, but his hair as well! Thank you to all who attended the event, you created such an amazing atmosphere.

Mr. McLean, thank you for putting yourself in the spotlight and giving such a big part of yourself in the name of charity. Your efforts have united and engaged the college community in a brilliant way.

To all those who donated and participated in events, thank you for supporting such the VCAL students and Beyond Blue.

Kady Best,
