Special Effects Makeup

Students are working in groups to plan, produce and edit their own short films.  As a part of the preparation, students are learning hands-on skills to apply to their own productions.  On the 8th of September our students learned the basics of special effects makeup.

Throughout the afternoon students learned how to create fake blood, bruises, grazes and gunshot wounds.  Students experimented with latex, spirit gum, bruise palettes, glucose syrup and stipple sponges to replicate the appearance of injuries. Whilst some of the photos may seem gruesome, no students were harmed in this process.
