End of Year in the Library

At the end of the year, it is always interesting to look at our borrowing statistics to see how busy the year has been.

  • Our top year level for borrowing is Year 3.
  • We have issued a total of 39, 777 items (devices and equipment) across both Campuses, and returned 34, 411 items.
  • The most popular author was Anh Do.
  • We have processed 6375 new items across both Campuses.

As the end of the year draws to a close there are a few reminders that we need to share.

All library books including textbooks must be returned to the Library. All items will be overdue as of 25/11 and overdue emails will be sent to remind students and families to return these books.

For books that are not returned at the end of the year payment will be requested. We ask that this is paid promptly to the Library or Student Services.

Students in Years 7, 8, 10 and 11 will have their Chromebooks or Laptops renewed for 2023 unless they are leaving the school.

Students who will not be returning to Emmaus Christian College in 2023 must return all books and devices.

How can I keep reading during the holidays?

  1. Borrow from your Local Public Library - Public Libraries across South Australia are all connected through the One Card library card meaning you have access to a large collection of books even if you are holidaying away from your local library. Ebooks and Audiobooks can also be accessed through your local library membership.

  2. Middle/ Senior Students - can still access ebooks and audiobooks through the school subscription to Wheelers. Access this through the Library Catalogue http://accessit.emmauscc.sa.edu.au/#!landingPage (look for the blue wings icon) or https://emmauscc.eplatform.co/ (login using the same details as your device)

  3. Visit a Secondhand Book store and see what you can find.

  4. ELC and Junior School Students can access online books through:

    Storybox Library https://storyboxlibrary.com.au
    Username: emmauscc
    Password: story2022

    Era Books Online https://www.erabooksonline.com/au-emmaus-christian-college
    Password: ECC12345

  5. Find a Street Library and swap a book.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back into our Libraries in 2023 and hope that you can share some of the books you have read over the holidays with us.

From First Aid

We pray that you and your family will have a blessed Christmas and New Year and enjoy some quality time together.

COLLECTION OF MEDICATIONS

As the conclusion of the 2022 school year is rapidly approaching, we would like to remind parents that we DO NOT store student medications here at the College over the long school holiday period.

Please collect your child's medications from First Aid before or on the final day of school? This is particularly relevant to Senior School Students at this point in time as they complete their school year before the official end of Term.

Thank you,

Ros Argent and Heidi Van Eck

First Aid Officers

From the South Plympton Canteen

As the 2022 school year draws to an end; we would like to thank you for your support over the year; with a special thank you to our parent and student volunteers for graciously sharing their time with us this year. We look forward to your support next year.

Wishing everyone a Blessed Christmas and safe summer holidays.

But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; He is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."
Luke 2:10-12 (NIV)

God bless,
