Ms Christine Larsen - Curriculum Leader The Arts

ASHCAM Photography Competition

In its fourth year running, the ASHCAM Photography Competition is open not only to students but to all in our Marist Community and coincides with Creative Industries Week (Week 7 of Term 2) each year. With more than 200 entries this year, our guest judge, world-renowned photographer, Dr Joachim Froese, was impressed with the high quality of entries which made for some stiff competition in each section. We congratulate all of our award winners (below) who will be presented with their prizes and certificates on assembly this week. We also congratulate everyone who entered ASHCAM 2023 and encourage all to enter again in 2024 when the competition is launched at the start of Term 2. We thank Ms Tamara Sheedy for collating all entries and communicating with all entrants throughout the duration of the competition. The winning photos are on display in the library for the remainder of the term.

Also, as part of Creative Industries week, we were fortunate to have had Urban and Street artist and Graphic Designer, Sarah Sculley, come to our college to be involved in a live paint session in the yard, supported by our very own DJ, Year 11 student, Zane Seeto. Sarah also worked with our Year 12 Visual Arts in Practice students to develop their own murals which will adorn the walls in the art Courtyard once completed.
