Sacrament Program Thank You

Last weekend we rejoiced and celebrated with the children who received the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Eucharist.

I would like to extend my deepest gratitude for the superb effort everyone put in to making the Masses so memorable for the children. To Bishop Shane, Fr John, Annette Ryan, the Music Group, lectors and special ministers, collectors, staff at both St Augustine’s and St Patrick’s and Leanne and Colleen in the Parish office.  A lot of hard work goes into preparing the children for Sacraments and the liturgies and your dedication and commitment is truly appreciated.

To the parents, sponsors and families of our beautiful children, thank you for your commitment and support throughout the Sacramental journey this year. Last weekend was a great testimony to your dedication and hard work and the children were truly magnificent.

Finally, to all our parishioners who have prayed for us all during this journey, may our God of love continue to pour blessings on you all.

Vinnies Winter Appeal - finishing next week

Last week, a group of students met at lunch to learn from Cara who works for Vinnies in Box Hill. Cara gave us a great introduction into how Vinnies came to be. She explained that a French man named Frederic Oznam was the founder, who started his work in Paris by collecting and giving people firewood.

Today Vinnies provides over 600,000 meals a year to people in need, just in Victoria! Cara explained that the Vinnies logo showing three hands represents the hands of Jesus, the receiver and the giver.

Please contribute to our Vinnies Winter Appeal.

We are seeking donations of non-perishable food items to be brought to TA and placed in the Vinnies blue bag provided.

It would be wonderful if each TA could fill a bag with tinned food items, pasta, pasta sauces and other staple food items.

We will also be collecting winter woolies such as new socks.

Please give generously!

Lost Property

We currently have many items in the lost property box at school.  If you are missing any items, particularly uniform items, please check at the College Office before the end of term.  Unclaimed items will be donated to St Vincent de Paul.

National Science Week 2022

GLASS - 'MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE

The National Science Week theme this year acknowledges the UN International Year of Glass, celebrating the many roles that glass plays in our lives – from phone screens to optical fibre to glassware in labs – plus investigating glass as a part of our sustainable future.

Last week, students engaged in immersive laboratory experiences with microscopes, lenses and prisms and experienced glass properties through making toffee and melting glass.

Across the entire College, students participated in a competition to guess the glass-themed song, as well as participating in quizzes during TA time.

A cracking effort by all of the students and staff that participated in celebrating science week at our school this year.
