CHANGE OF WEEKEND FOR TONGALA AND MERRIGUM MASSES

Fr John Paul and the Parish Pastoral Council have decided to make a change to the weekend that Mass will be celebrated at Tongala and Merrigum.

This change will provide parishioners with the option of attending either the 8.30am Mass at St Augustine's or Tongala/Merrigum on the weekend when there is no Saturday Vigil Mass (excluding a fifth Saturday of the month).

Commencing from September, Mass will be celebrated at:

  • St Patrick's Tongala on the first Sunday of the month at 11.30am. Celebrant - Fr Novelito Lim (Fr Novie), Parish Priest of Echuca.
  • St Sebastian’s Merrigum on the third Sunday of the month at 12 noon. Celebrant - Fr John.

Fifth Saturday of the Month

Up until now, when there has been a fifth Saturday of the month, a Vigil Mass has been celebrated alternating between Kyabram and Tatura.

Commencing from August, if there is a fifth Saturday of the month, Mass will not be celebrated at either Kyabram or Tatura.

Multicultural Mass

This would be the ninth year of St Augustine’s celebrating around twenty different cultures in our Parish (we missed 2020 and ’21 due to Covid, of course).

We invite everyone to share in our special

Multicultural Mass on Saturday 27th August at 6pm. If you have a national costume (or even part of one), do please wear it – and also, if you can, bring along a national dish (this includes Australian fare) to share at our multicultural supper after Mass. This is a great occasion to experience the richness that all cultures have.

Planned Giving Envelopes

Our Parish will soon be ordering the printing of Planned Giving envelopes for the coming year.

To help the Parish save costs, please consider changing from giving through envelopes to Direct Debit.

Please contact the Parish on 5852 1026 if you would like to make this change or if you would like to learn more details about the Planned Giving Program.
