Swimming & AFL

Congratulations to Jarrod Dyer in Year 11. He won a medal at the Georgina Hope Nationals (Australia) in the holidays. Jarrod got Silver in the 50 metres Butterfly, which is an astounding effort.

Another great achievement was from Ryan Dragarski in Year 9 - he made the School South Coast team for AFL. Wonderful effort boys, you've definitely made the school proud.

Our under 15's had their round 1 match of the NSW AFL schoolboys knockout against Smith's Hill. Our team only had 3 players with AFL experience but the boys played their hearts out, and despite their inexperience, came away with a tough 25-19 point Victory. Goal kickers were Ryan Dragarski, Ben Pemberton and Radif Kanj. It was great to see the boys go out of their comfort zone, trying a new sport. 

Best players on the day were; Ryan Dragarski, Radif Kanj, Keith Gatt, Liam Ramsey and Jake Gee.

Netball

On Thursday 10th May, our Junior girls netball team represented Lake Illawarra High school in the Netball NSW schools cup held in Nowra.

The girls played brilliantly together displaying outstanding teamwork and sportsmanship.

Congratulations to Kelly Bair, Christine Bettridge, Chelsea Ezeoke, Tennielle Lenartowicz-Wilkinson, Hannah Ezeoke, Tayla Gage-Simpson, Jorja Haddon, Lainey Hooper and Asia Maalindogg on your effort and commitment.

Zone Cross Country

On Tuesday the 8th May, our school competed in the Zone Cross Country Carnival. We were extremely lucky to have beautiful weather and the 2018 Zone team enjoyed a fantastic day at Integral Park, Dapto. The students were wonderful representatives of Lake Illawarra High School, performing well and displaying fine sportsmanship. Congratulations to all participants.
