PE&Sport - Ms McLeary

PE lessons are underway and the students are having a great time. They are learning the routines and rules when they move to different areas of the school and are looking fabulous in their sports uniforms. Thank you for your support in getting the kids into good supportive runners - it really does help them move around easier.

The Preps-2’s are learning to follow rules and take turns during our lessons and are showing a great deal of resilience and cooperation. We have been focusing on the fundamental motor skills of JUMP and BALANCE with the preps and have been exploring how our arms help us perform better. The Year 2’s have been working with a variety of balls on their catching and bouncing skills. Learning to use our “chicken wings” to help throw and our “spider fingers” to help bounce.

The Yr 3-6 students have been focusing on Net games. The first sport we are learning is Tennis where we have practised forehand and backhand shots and how to drop serve for a game. The Yr 5-6 students are also developing their understanding and knowledge of how to score and play a game of Hot Shots Tennis ready for the Summer Gala.

Swim Trials

Congratulations to Edie, Amelia, Douglas, Darren and Henryk who represented the school at the District swim trials last week at Richmond Rec. The swimmers worked hard and had a great time watching and taking part in the competition. Well done to Douglas who went through to the next round in Breaststroke and came first in his race. He will now go on to the Regional finals next week - Good Luck Douglas.

FIT CLUB- FREE

Thursday 7.45-8.30am

Fit club is open to all students who want to get more activity into their week and come along and have some fun with their friends. Just come along before school on Thursday and join us in the playground. We will have students from St Kevin’s who are completing their community service to help us.

Dr CRANKY’S BIKE HOSPITAL

Friday 8.15am

Our school recycling program will be back up and running in week 5 this term. We help to provide a service where we can help complete minor repairs on your bike and also donate second hand bikes to our students who need them. We have a number of bikes for 5-9yr olds that need a home and are ready for a new owner. So if you are interested please come and see us next to the church before school on Fridays. We are also looking for new volunteers - so if there are any parents/carers who have an interest in helping out please come and see us.
