SUSTAINABILITY NEWS &  GARDENING FUN

Volunteers who can gently water, are very welcome on days other than the Thursday (we water on Thursday when Miss Belinda is here) - especially while our seedlings are so small. Just ask Mrs Boffa in the office for the key to the shed to get a watering can. Our plants really appreciated it! It was so exciting to see how our vegetables are thriving! Our silverbeet is nearly ready to eat! We learned how to very gently separate seedlings and plant some mignonette lettuce at Gracelyn’s request. We are learning lots of skills like how to take care of the gardening tools and to use them safely, as well as how to plant and look after our vegetables and flowers.

National Ride (or Walk or Catch Public Transport) Day is coming up on Friday 23rd March.

We encourage you to leave the car at home and ride, walk, or catch public transport to school and help reduce pollution from cars on the road! If you live too far away, you can do this for part of the way! We will join more than 350,000 students across Australia who will ride, walk, scoot and skate to school.

Nude Food Day every Thursday

The winnes of Nude Food this week is 5/6FA! Well done! Remember to bring healthy food with no wrappers on Thursdays so we can make less rubbish and look after the environment.

Some yummy ideas - a sandwich/wrap/roll, pasta with vegetables, soup, frittata or sushi, a fruit or vegetable snack, such as whole fruit, cut up veggie sticks, fruit or savoury kebab or a small salad.

There is a great booklet of ideas here
