Plastic Free July

Plastic free July is a month where we all strive to reduce the amount of plastic thrown away in our precious environment. More than 14 billion tonnes of plastic is found in our ocean and scientists predict if this continues, by 2050 we will have more plastic than fish! Plastic free July is a month to unite and thrive to work together to defeat our horrendous and filthy plastic which is ruining our oceans.

During July an event called plastic free July will happen where we try to reduce the amount of plastic coming into schools. Now this is not just for our school -  it is worldwide which is even better because it can help reduce plastic even more. So make sure you contribute by bringing your food to school in containers or sandwich bags, which are reusable. This is also very important because in the Pacific Ocean there is a patch of rubbish laying there that is three times the size of France, which is 1.6 million square kilometers. So do your part!
