From the Principal

Dear Huntingtower Community,

Last Friday evening,  we celebrated the Secondary School Speech Night and farewelled the graduating class of 2021.  It was wonderful to have all the students together in the PAC and also to hear our beautiful Choirs, Orchestras and Band.  We were also treated to a scene from the production, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” which unfortunately had to be cancelled during the year.  It was a very special way to end the year – together.

Last week we also enjoyed our annual Christmas is Giving Assembly.  Thank you to all the families who supported our chosen charity, the Eastern Emergency Relief Network.  We raised $4,455.35 and the money will help provide Christmas Hampers to lots of families in need in our direct community.

Yesterday we received the VCE results and we could not be prouder of our 2021 graduates. We thank the Class of 2021 for their perseverance, positive thought and support of each other in what was a very difficult VCE year. We congratulate all students on their achievements in the Victorian Certificate of Education examinations. Collectively, the final results for Huntingtower are outstanding. Huge congratulations to Alexandra (Sasha) Girski and Abby Poon for sharing the honour of  Dux of the Class of 2021, with both achieving an ATAR of 99.90.

The Class of 2021 achieved a median ATAR of 91.7 and a median study score of 37. We had 32% of the students achieve study scores of 40 or above.  The 2021 results also included 5 perfect study scores across Physical Education, Further Mathematics and Food Studies.

Congratulations to the entire Class of 2021 and also to our amazing teachers who have worked tirelessly to guide and support them.

We sincerely thank all families for their ongoing support during 2021 and wish everyone a safe and joyous Christmas. We look forward to seeing you back for the commencement of Term 1 2022 on Tuesday 1 February.
