Farewells

Departing Huntingtower Staff

We are blessed to have amazing, generous, dedicated and professional staff with many years of commitment to the education of generations of Huntingtower students. 

All things have their time, and at the end of 2021, we will farewell several long serving and much-loved members of our community as they commence their retirement. Between them all, they have a combined 206 years of service! 

On behalf of the entire Huntingtower community, I extend our deepest gratitude to Mrs Jan Tyquin (34 years of service), Mrs Fiona Hamzi (31 years), Mrs Mary Ciavarella (27 years), Mrs Janet Irving (25 years), Mr Phil Amos (24 years), Mrs Oksana Melnychenko (22 years), Mr Peter Rees (21 years), Mrs Robin Clarke (19 years), Mrs Jody Goddard (16 years) and Mrs Sheryl Ecker (9 years). We wish them every happiness as they embark on this next chapter in their life’s journey. 

At the conclusion of the school year, we will also farewell Ms Des Lyristis, Mr Nic Green, Mr Eitan Sifris, Mr Neb Radisic, Ms Sarah Cochrane, Mr Rodney Jones, Mr Evan Pugh, Mr Mike Blood, Mr Mike Blood and Mr Jan Blazejczak. We thank them all for the wonderful care and support they have given to our community and wish them well in their new endeavours.

We also wish Ms Laura Trevaskis, Mrs Rosie Barron and Ms Lisa Sutton the very best while on Parental or Long Service Leave. We look forward to them returning to Huntingtower at the conclusion of their leave.

As we conclude another year, I thank the entire community for their ongoing support and wish every family a safe and joyous Christmas break.

In 2022, we will welcome an amazing team of returning and new staff. The reputation of Huntingtower as a community which embodies Kindness, Respect and Excellence has seen us attract staff who share our passion for education and commitment to demonstrating our unlimited potential. 

We have attracted experienced teachers from a number of highly regarded Independent and State schools and the best graduates from our local Universities. We are also delighted to welcome some past students to commence their own teaching career at Huntingtower and giving back to the community they love.

I look forward to introducing you to them all in 2022 and know the community will extend them a very warm Huntingtower welcome.
