Junior School

The last few weeks in the Junior School were full of exciting activities!

Junior School STEM Day

Ball Games Carnival

Congratulations to winners Ruthven!

Year 3

What a busy last few weeks in Year 3!

Making paper pizzas was a great way to learn about fractions, (although real ones would have been more delicious!) Lots of fun was had by everyone at the Book Parade dress up day and at Christmas Craft Day, where some beautiful stockings were sewn and decorated. Students learnt all about magnets in our STEM session by making racing car tracks. What an amazing Term 4!

ELC 3

Here are the last few photos from the ELC3s who finished school today. They enjoyed decorating the tree together and dressing up to re-create the Nativity scene.

Year 4

Geography!

To end the term, Year 4 students researched and then created a diorama to present their findings on a natural feature of Australia’s geography. These wonderful creations were then presented by each student to their peers.

Junior School Art

Grade 5 Art

The Grade 5 students have recently completed their textile cactus sculptures in the last few weeks of term. Students tie-dyed fabric to create interesting patterns. Spikes and buttons were sewn onto their sculptures before being ‘planted’. Well done Grade 5s – they look fantastic!

Grade 2 Art

The Grade 2 students have recently completed their self-portrait collages. In class we studied the beautiful painting of Australian textile designer, Jenny Kee which was painted by Melbourne based contemporary artist, Carla Fletcher in 2015. Just as in Fletcher’s original painting, students closely studied the textile designs of Jenny Kee from her long spanning career. They took inspiration from Kee’s designs to create their own colourful and playful textile design for their bodies. Using black and white photographs of themselves, they then cut and pasted the pieces together in the style of the original portrait. For fun, some students added red glasses and details in the style of Kee herself. Well done Grade 2s – a colourful and fun way to end the year!
