Year 7 Basketball Tournament
Monday the 26th saw all Year 7 students participate in the annual basketball tournament at the Shepp Stadium. It was a fantastic day as students participated with enthusiasm and displayed excellent sportsmanship.
7B were the winners of the boys court while 7C were the winners for the girls court.
Coco Batey was the highest point scorer for the girls scoring 60 points on the day and Rory Urquhart took out the boys highest point scorer on 52.
Well done to all the students on their participation on the day.
Active Life for Boys – Golf
As part of the Active Life for Boys class, the boys attended the Shepparton Golf Club and received a lesson from their club professional Mitch. The boys learnt the basics of a golf swing and how to hit the ball. They then had an hour of hitting and practicing their technique. All boys enjoyed the opportunity to sample a sport they might not have had much access to in the past.
RMIT – PE and Exercise Science Excursion
On Thursday 15th November, 14 students traveled down by bus to RMIT University in Bundoora. They traveled with staff and students from the four secondary colleges in the Alliance. The day is designed to give students a taste of what University life is like and to participate in some practical activities that were run by current RMIT Education students. Our students had a great day testing their fitness levels and also playing some games to promote teamwork and co-operation. The students were very well behaved and represented Wanganui in a positive light. Hopefully, there is some future PE teachers or Sports Scientists in this group.
