Daffodil Day Fundraising Thank You!

Daffodil Day is the Cancer Council’s annual campaign that raises life-saving funds for world-class cancer research. It’s a time of hope; where many people come together to show our support for the 145,000 Australians diagnosed with cancer each year.

Research is vital to saving lives and finding less harsh cancer treatments. Money raised this Daffodil Day Appeal will help fund some of the brightest researchers in the country who are dedicated to discovering the next cancer breakthroughs.

At Boroondara Park PS, we supported Daffodil Day through selling Daffodil Day merchandise.

Thank you to the Junior School Councillors who assisted with selling.

A special thank you to everyone who made a purchase. We raised $380.

Recess and Lunchtime Sports Equipment - Our new system is working well!

Last week, Mr Batt and members of JSC re-organised our outdoor sports equipment for recess and lunch playtimes.

Tubs of equipment that suit the different areas of the school were put together and JSC monitors take them in and outside each day.

It has been really great seeing the equipment being used, making the playground a happy and productive space.

A reminder to those students who borrow and use the equipment, to look after it and to return it to the tub from which it came, when it's finished with or at the end of each play break.

Thanks to Mr Batt and JSC for this initiative.

The weather's picking up so keep those sand toys coming!

And maybe add some pre-loved but now not needed Tupperware or other plastic items.

JSC are still collecting pre-loved sand toys to replenish the depleted collections in the F-2, 3/6 and 5/6 sandpits. We're also adding to this, a call for no longer needed Tupperware/Decor or other  plastic containers and utensils that could be used as sand toys.

Items in good condition, can be sent to Mrs Owens and Mrs Tainsh’s rooms – 20 & 21, either directly or via the classrooms.

Thank you in advance for your help… and a special thanks to those families who have donated already. Our students are very appreciative!
