Year 7 Girls Region Soccer
We started off the day taking a bus ride to Darebin. Our first game was at 10:10am against Brentwood college, we played an alright game but got beaten by over 10 goals, we were very fortunate at the end of a game to get a goal, making the final score about 12-1. We had a quick half an hour break before our next game at 11:30am. We played Mount Waverley and did a lot better than the first game but unfortunately lost 10-1. Our last game we played against Lilydale Heights, which was our best game of the day. We had multiple opportunities to score but sadly none of them made it to the back of the net, Lilydale ended up scoring a goal. We did amazing only losing 1-0. Amber and I were so proud of how the girls grew and improved throughout the day, even when they were losing by several goals, they never put their heads down and they just kept having fun. Considering most of the girls had never played before we did extremely well.

Year 7 Boys Region Soccer
The year 7 Boy’s had a very tough day of games, competing against the likes of Mount Waverley, South Oakley and Lilydale. They played South Oakley first and got a tough 1-0 win with Nils making an excellent run in behind to score the goal. The second game against Mount Waverley was a lot harder for the boys and they found themselves one nil down early in the game, but they stuck with it and showed real character to deal with the pressure and had a few chances at scoring on the counter-attack. We ended up losing the game 2-0 but showed a lot of teamwork and bonding as the team.
Our last game of the day against Lilydale was really strong, showing just how far the boys improved as a team in just two games. Playing some good skills, always being on the attack and showing promise for the future, with players like Parkin, Nils, Teetut and Bailey showing leadership and helping less experienced players with positioning and giving them encouragement. They beat Lilydale 2-0 to cap off a great day of football.
