Cows Create Careers Program

The Cows Create Careers program is an engaging educational initiative that introduces students to the wide range of career opportunities within the Australian dairy industry. As part of the program, students care for calves, learn about modern dairy farming practices, and explore careers in fields such as veterinary science, agribusiness, and food technology.

Last semester, Loreto College proudly took out first place in the South West Victoria senior section. Congratulations to Year 10 Agricultural and Horticultural Studies students Ayva and Lia, who represented the College and were named the overall winners for their outstanding work and dedication throughout the program.

Meredith Dairy Excursion

By Meg Lynch - Year 12

Recently, our class of Year 12 Agriculture students had the privilege of visiting Meredith Dairy, a large-scale sheep and goat dairy outside of Ballarat. We were able to observe many sustainable farm practices the dairy has implemented to minimise waste products and find ways to utilise them to create food sustainability. It was also great to get insights from the owner, Julie, about how the landscape has improved due to the farms management practices over time.
