Year 7 Camp

Lord Somers: March 4–6

Our Year 7 students recently enjoyed an unforgettable three-day camp at Lord Somers from March 4th to 6th. With beautiful weather across the entire camp, students were able to make the most of every activity and opportunity the experience offered.

Throughout the camp, students showed fantastic enthusiasm and teamwork. They fully embraced each activity, encouraging and supporting one another while sometimes stepping outside their comfort zones. It was wonderful to see students strengthening friendships with their peers and building positive relationships with their teachers in such a relaxed and engaging environment.

The camp program was packed with exciting activities. Students had the chance to try stand-up paddle boarding and kayaking, making the most of the coastal setting while developing confidence on the water. Raft building was another highlight, with teams working together to design and construct their own floating creations before testing them out.

Creativity was also on display during pizza making, where students prepared their own delicious pizzas, and t-shirt printing, where they designed a special camp memento to take home and remember the experience.

Evenings were just as enjoyable as the daytime activities. The disco night had everyone on the dance floor, while the trivia night brought out plenty of laughs, friendly competition, and teamwork.

Overall, the camp was a fantastic success. Students demonstrated great participation, resilience, and kindness throughout the three days. Experiences like this not only create lasting memories but also play an important role in building confidence, strengthening friendships, and developing a strong sense of community within the year level.
