Year 4 Urban Gardening

In gardening, we plant interesting things. We love gardening because we see worms, snails and nature and we get to do worm farming. We also weed and get to bring in small compost bins every week and we get to mush the food scraps. It is really fun to explore nature and even more fun doing this with all our friends at school. It is an honour to be able to do gardening at school because some people don’t do gardening at home. It's so cool that we can do gardening and write about it in this newsletter.

In gardening, we do composting, worm farming, planting, shredding, watering and weeding. So welcome to our wonderful world of gardening. In composting and worm farming we check on the worms, feed them and make worm juice for our plants. In shredding we have used classroom paper from the whole school that we shred for the worms and composting to make them grow bigger and stronger. Also in watering we fill up watering cans to water the nice plants. At weeding we pull out strong weeds that most of the time don't want to come out . We do gardening every Wednesday. When it's raining we go inside and we make cool posters and we make paper plant holders and we put seeds and seedlings in the plant holders.
