Year 1/2 Excursion Garden Show - Ms Belinda

Garden Show Excursion

Last Friday, our Year 1/2 students enjoyed a truly memorable excursion to the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show. It was a wonderful day filled with hands-on learning, creativity, and discovery.

As part of our recent learning about sustainability and how we can help take care of our world, this excursion provided a rich and meaningful real-world connection. Students explored how plants, gardens, and natural environments play an important role in caring for our planet.

Throughout the day, students took part in a range of engaging activities, including creating their own beautiful seed balls, listening to captivating Dreamtime stories, and learning about bush foods. A highlight of the day was the opportunity to hear from Aboriginal Elders, who generously shared their knowledge and culture with our students.

The children were also in awe of the spectacular flower displays and imaginative sculptures showcased inside the Exhibition Building. The vibrant colours and creative designs inspired plenty of excitement and curiosity.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our wonderful parent and grandparent helpers. Your support made this excursion possible, and we are so grateful for your time and enthusiasm.

It was a fantastic day of learning beyond the classroom, and one that our students will remember for a long time!
