Principal's News

Holy Thursday is the commemoration of the Last Supper of Jesus Christ, when he established the sacrament of Holy Communion prior to his arrest and crucifixion. The holy day falls on the Thursday before Easter and is part of Holy Week. Jesus celebrated the dinner as a Passover feast.
Dear Families & Friends,
It has been an incredible first term at Trinity and when looking back over the past ten weeks it is hard to believe that we have fit so much in. As we began this term we welcomed many new families and a number of new staff. It is my hope that by now, each of these people have truly begun to feel a great sense of belonging to our school community. I thank each of you for the part you play in ensuring our school community is one which is spoken about so positively in the wider community. As you may be aware we are currently in the middle of our enrolment meetings for Prep 2027 and it is an extremely enjoyable part of my job to show these families around a school that we can all be very proud of. As I have said to the children, we can have wonderful buildings, great resources and excellent programs but it is always the children they meet and the feeling they get when they tour our school that helps them decide that Trinity is the best school for their children. We have already had many more enquiries and tours than we did at this time last year so our continued growth in enrolments looks promising. A special reminder for any current families with siblings wishing to enrol in prep next year to complete the online form HERE or let Barb know in the office.
Term 2 will begin on Monday 20th April with our normal 8:45am Monday morning gathering to welcome all children and families back to school.
Second Hand Uniform Pop Up Shop!
Thank you to Christine Zimmermann and her team for coordinating our second hand uniform pop up this term. It was very successful.
SAC (School Advisory Council) Meeting
On Monday Mrs Annie and I met with our SAC members to discuss a number of school matters and to enable important parent feedback to be shared and discussed. The main purpose of the SAC is to work with school leadership and and the Parish Priest to provide advice and support to help the school.
The following are some ways the School Advisory Council supports the School and the Principal:
- Promoting the school’s Catholic ethos and culture
- Articulating and enacting the School’s vision and mission
- Promoting faith formation and development
- Capital resource planning and maintenance
- Disseminating information about the School in accordance with these Terms of Reference
- Implementing School policies as required
- Supporting and communicating School and parish matters, including the School annual report
- Giving advice on issues such as enrolments, School improvement plans and enrolment trends
- Engaging in discussion about the annual School budget and other financial matters
- Giving advice about the school Master Plan
At the conclusion of this school year new members from the parent group will be invited to volunteer to be part of the SAC for 2027 and beyond.
Easter Raffle
A very big thankyou to our generous parents who donated such great prizes for our Easter Raffle this year. I would also like to acknowledge all those parents who assisted in organizing, wrapping and delivering the prizes for our children.
Guess the Number of Easter Eggs
As an added treat and mathematical challenge, Archie, Saul and Josh provided our Guess the number of Easter Eggs jar giving children and teachers the opportunity of estimating the number of eggs held in the jar. With guesses from 23 to 1000 Billion there was certainly some wild guesses but inbetween these were some carefully calculated guesses from those truly hoping to win the prize. At our final assembly today, Saul announced some of the closest guesses:
Closest Staff Member - Mr W, 486
Closest Prep - Viola B , 400
Closest 1/2 - (A tie with) Emilio M and Taylor H, 325
Closest 5/6 - Tim L
Outright Winner - Thomas M from 3/4TR, 357.
The correct number of eggs in this year's jar was 360
