Learning and Teaching

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their warm welcome to Trinity Catholic School. In my 10 weeks I have had a deliberate focus on trying to get to know everyone, especially our students and I wish to thank them, the staff, our families and parish for ensuring a smooth transition into my new role.
At the begining of every school year there is an intentional focus on establishing strong, predictable routines and structures within every classroom. These consistent practices support smooth transitions, maximising learning time and creating environments where students feel safe, supported and ready to learn. Clear expectations and routines help students to develop independence and confidence as learners.
As we journey into the second term, our work continues to be guided by the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) Vision for Instruction, which calls us to create learning environments that are purposeful, inclusive and evidence-informed. We are strengthening a shared understanding of high-impact teaching practices, with a focus on clear learning intentions, explicit teaching and the use of assessment to inform teaching.
Teachers are using a range of assessment strategies to gather evidence of student learning and adjust instruction accordingly. This ongoing cycle of assessment and feedback is supporting improved student outcomes and greater clarity for learners.
In term 2 we are excited to be partnering with Inform and Empower to support us in our work in cyber safety and digital wellbeing. We look forward to sharing more information with you in the coming months.
